8th Grade Parents,
As you approach Thanksgiving, take a deep breath and spend a few more minutes completing your High School Applications so you can turn them in and move on to celebrating and feeling relieved!  I am amazed at how well our students handled the pressure of balancing their current school year/work and searching for their next school.  For some, it did require extra work and auditions.  And for some, those interviews are still not over...

Technology Upgrade
MS 51 has over 300 computer desktops and laptop managed by an ancient file server (Win 2003), which needs a desperate upgrade. The improved server would allow the computers to be updated and maintained simultaneously, enabling more effective teaching and unify communication. In addition, the server will install classroom management software and prevent potential viruses. Moving forward to comply with DOE regulations all Common Core Standardized Tests will be online.

Installing Air-Conditioning on the Third Floor

The first two floors of 51 had AC installed eight years ago. Due to budget restrictions, the third floor was not upgraded. As warmer weather approaches those classrooms can obtain temperatures of 90 degrees which can make teaching and learning impossible.
