Families can first check with health insurance for referrals in their community as well as with Pediatrician 

Families can also look for therapists on psychologytoday.org, Alma and Headway. You can do a search by insurance,  geographical area and specific expertise or area of concern

MOBILE CRISIS UNIT:  718-840-4903   If a family can not get in to an ER for an emergency psychiatric assessment, the rapid response unit may be able come to the home and provide assessment and follow up. They are run by Visiting Nurse Services.  Schools can assist parents in making the arrangements, it can be done online or over the phone.  The mobile crisis unit can come in to school to make the assessments however, there is a 2 hour window before they can come in and it is best if it is done at home with parent present.
